I use a variety of ingredients in my bath soaps, but the formulations are all very simple. I rely on tallow and/or lard to produce a hard, durable bar, but I can substitute palm oil for custom batches on request. From time to time, I will also offer soaps made with palm oil in place of tallow and lard. Coconut oil is included in almost all of my soaps, as it yields plenty of bubbly lather. Rice bran oil, avocado oil, and/or olive oil may be added to provide for creamier, gentler lather and some skin conditioning. Ultimately, my favorite bars tend to be made with a simple three-oil blend of tallow, olive oil, and coconut oil.
While many of my soaps do include micas and oxide for color, I am also happy to produce batches of bar soap with no added color or only natural colorants upon request. I can and often do also make unscented bar soap or soap scented only with essential oils. If there’s a scent you’d like me to make, contact me. I am always happy to make something new or remake an old favorite.
